School district budget meeting set

PHILLIPS — The MSAD #58 School Board will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 17 at Mt. Abram High School on the proposed $9.1 million 2012-2013 budget.

According to district officials, this meeting provides the opportunity for voters to hear the board’s proposed budget explained and to ask questions.

KINGFIELD — The Kingfield Budget Committee endorsed a $700,000-plus 2012-13 budget, nixing a request from the Stanley Museum for $4,000 and WorkFirst for $700. They also voted to reduce a $900 request from Bridging the Gap to $500.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY — At its annual convention in San Antonio, Texas last week, the National Ski Areas Association honored Sugarloaf with its award for the year’s “Best Overall Marketing Campaign.”

Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Mountain Resort shared the award with Sugarloaf.
