MSAD #58 Budget Meeting

The MSAD #58 budget meeting will be held Thursday, May 17, at 6 p.m. in the Mt. Abram High School cafeteria. This meeting provides the opportunity for voters to hear the board’s proposed budget explained and to ask questions. Residents will then vote on each of the warrant articles necessary to approve a budget for the 2012-2013 fiscal year.

Car hop benefits MTA softball team

KINGFIELD — The Mt. Abram softball team will be having a Car Hop at the Kingfield Woodsman Saturday, May 19, at 5 p.m., with a rain date of June 1.

All classic and antique cars are welcome. There will be 50/50 tickets being sold and live 50s, 60s and 70s music playing. The menu will be: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chili dogs, fresh cut fries, frappes, sodas and coffee.

Carrabec releases ‘Top Ten’ list

NORTH ANSON — Officials at Carrabec High School recently released the school’s Top Ten student list for 2012.

Justin Adams is the son of Barry and Melissa Adams of Anson. He will be attending KVCC for the Pulp n’ Paper program.

FARMINGTON — Led by a procession of University faculty, administrators and dignitaries to the moving music of a local bagpipe group, 387 University of Maine at Farmington bachelor’s and master’s degree recipients, marched Saturday, May 12, in the 2012 UMF Commencement Ceremony.
