      SETH WESCOTT signs a helmet for a young fan during “Seth Wescott Day” at Sugarloaf on Saturday. It was the first official public appearance the SBX Gold medal winner made since his return from the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. At a press conference earlier that day, Wescott said that autograph sessions are very important to him.

Mt. Abram skiing still alive and well
      LOCK MILLS –- Most sports teams end their season after the state competition, however in alpine and Nordic ski racing, the top state finishers go on to the state selection teams and compete in the TD Bank Eastern High School Championships. And some of the best 14- and 15-year-olds compete in cross-country competition in the TD Bank NENSA J2 Championships and National Invitational.

Wescott comes home - Free Access
     CARRABASSETT VALLEY –- Seth Wescott received a hero’s welcome Saturday at Sugarloaf. It was a day that begged for celebration. The snow was deep, the sun was bright, music blasted from speakers on the Beach in front of the Base Lodge, and Wescott was back home with his Gold medal from the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

      STRONG — Strong and Phillips will face off in a mitten basketball competition Tuesday, March 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Strong school. There will be a half-time baked goods auction. Proceeds will benefit the 8th grade class trips. For more information, call the school at 684-3521.
