This new seasonal shop is owned by Michael Bobish and offers a surprisingly different selection of one-of-a-kind items.Bobish has purchased a variety of antique and vintage items from "up and down the East Coast" to acquire the store's inventory. He does mostly direct sale, but will also offer consignment pieces, as space permits. Salmon Ledge Antiques also offers antique refinishing and repairs."This is not the same antique shop that was here last year," Bobish, who rented the space to another business previously, said."I have wanted to live in a mountain and lake region for years," said Bobish, who has been summering in Maine since 1990, "and each summer I found it harder to leave and I wanted to be here longer."So last fall, Bobish purchased "a property that would facilitate this business." He described the business as a "really cool antique shop in Eustis, Maine with general antiques and very tasteful decorator items. It is definitely not the kind of shop folks would expect to find in Eustis."The store is located at 1069 Route 27 Arnold Trail and is just opposite the Porter House Restaurant in Eustis.Salmon Ledge Antiques is open Thursday though Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the end of October. To reach Salmon Ledge by phone, call 246-2040.
