High School soccer playoffs underway
      SALEM -- The number one boys' team and the number one girls' undefeated soccer team have home field advantage throughout their playoff runs. The girls' team took on a tough game against St. Dom's yesterday Tuesday, Oct. 29. The Irregular went to press before the results of that game were available.

      KINGFIELD - - The Kingfield High School Wildcats won again to take the North Franklin league championship and the boy's basketball team was heading to the Lewiston Armory to play for the Western Maine Class S championship and state tourney.

Still on the field
     We caught Mt. Abram graduate Ronal Cabe at a UMF vs. Husson men's soccer game in Farmington on Saturday. Cabe is a freshman at UMF and a starter on the men's Varsity soccer team. He's doing well and still a blast to watch. UMF lost to Husson, 1-0, in the last game of the regular season in the North Atlantic Conference. The UMF team is heading into playoffs this week. The UMF Men's soccer team were scheduled to take on Thomas College in the NAC quarterfinal on Tuesday. (Heidi Murphy photo)

CVOA spends weekend in Bar Harbor
      BAR HARBOR — From scenic hikes to silly hats, the Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association's annual weekend outing to Bar Harbor had it all. This year even the weather cooperated, providing sunny (if chilly) days with none of the usual rain that has dampened the annual trip in past years.
