      To the editor: We would like to thank everyone who braved the cold to come to Hooterville Hollow for a haunted hayride on Saturday night. We had a fun time and hope you did too! Thanks also go out to all who contributed and participated to make this event a great success again this year.

I am for school consolidation
      To the editor: As the sole member of the MSAD #9 School Board who voted to approve its consolidation plan with MSAD #58, I am against the movement to repeal the school consolidation law. Yes, it is flawed, but if it is amended it will provide great potential for academic excellence and eventual cost savings.

Kudos to all the teams
      To the editor: I just wanted to let everyone know what I thought of the Jr. High Soccer games last Friday night under the lights. I thought all four teams played awesome. Both games were scoreless until the second half, meaning the kids played their hearts out, going end for end, kick for kick.

Phillips subdivision ordinance input wanted
      To the editor: On Thursday, Oct. 23, the town of Phillips held a special town meeting. The meeting was to enact an updated Subdivision Ordinance that was to replace the 1976 subdivision ordinance that the town was currently following. At the meeting, many residents expressed concerns with the new ordinance.
