WESTERN MOUNTAINS — The following are summaries of local law enforcement agencies' activities last week.

Franklin County Sheriff's Department

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department dispatchers were busy last week.

On Oct. 17 Franklin County Deputies were called to a welfare check on the Brackett Brook Road in Salem, responded to a call of criminal mischief on Gramps Way in Coplin Plantation, gave out a written warning on Route 27 in Alder Stream Township.

On Oct. 18 deputies gave out a written warning on Route 4 in Phillips, responded to a domestic incident on Bridge Street in Phillips and investigated a bomb threat on Route 27 in Eustis.

On Oct. 19 deputies gave out a written warning on Route 4 in Strong, responded to an underage drinking party on Route 17 in Rangeley, answered a harassment complaint on the Knowlton Road in Strong, performed an investigation on the Norton Hill Road in Strong, gave out a written warning on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation and investigated a traffic violation defect on Route 27 in Eustis.

On Oct. 20 the Franklin County Sheriff's Department assisted with a K-9 unit detail on Main Street in Rangeley and responded to a business alarm on Pleasant Street in Rangeley.

On Oct. 21 deputies responded with a K-9 detail on the Norton Hill Road in Strong and investigated a theft on the Mile Square Road in Avon.

On Oct. 22 deputies gave out a written warning on Main Street in Strong, responded to a report of smoke on the Morel Road in Rangeley and did a welfare check on the Spaulding Road in Strong.

On Oct. 23 deputies responded to a 911 hang up on the Loon Lake Road in Rangeley.

Maine State Police

The Maine State Police responded last week to 36 calls.

Avon: Maine State Trooper Aaron Turcotte responded to two assault cases and a theft.

Eustis: Maine State Trooper Scott Stevens responded to a request for help from an intoxicated person.

Maine State Trooper Matt Casavant and Agent Brian Ross of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency went to the Holly Road in Farmington to do a bail check on a man. Prescription drugs, marijuana and weapons were seized in the search. The man was arrested for violating his bail conditions. His girlfriend was arrested for destroying evidence.

In Industry Trooper Jon Brown and Detective Bryant Jacques investigated a sexual abuse case with an arrest made.

In Phillips Maine State Trooper Josh Birmingham investigated a theft.

Troopers investigated three property damage crashes in New Sharon, one in Chesterville and a crash with injuries on Route 142 in Kingfield.

NorthStar Ambulance

The NorthStar Ambulance service, under the direction of Operational Manager Mike Senecal, reported a busy week with Carrabassett Valley having one ambulance call, Chesterville two, Dallas Plantation one, Farmington 40, Jay 14, Kingfield seven, Lincoln Plantation one, Livermore three, Livermore Falls five, New Sharon, New Vineyard one, Oquossoc two, Phillips three, Rangeley three, Rangeley Plantation two, Stratton one, Wilton six and Wyman Township one.
