H. Douglas Collins MD
Living at Sugarloaf December through April was one of the happiest times of his retirement
      HANOVER, N.H. — H. Douglas Collins MD, died Oct. 14, 2008 at the age of 80 at the retirement community at Kendal of Hanover, N.H., a victim of Alzheimer's disease. Born and raised in Caribou, he was the third son of Samuel W. and Elizabeth Black Collins. He graduated from the University of Maine and went on to Harvard Medical School, class of 1952.

      KINGFIELD -- Durward A. "Dave" Davidson, age 92, of Kingfield died peacefully at his beloved Main Street home Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. He was born March 15, 1916 in Kingfield, a son of Earl and Sarah (Atwood) Davidson.

      FARMINGTON — Bradford D. Doyen, 67, of New Portland, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 13, 2008 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington from a gangrenous gall bladder. He was born in Rumford on March 31, 1941, the son of Archie and Anna (Daigle) Doyen. He attended Mexico schools and graduated in 1959.

      NORTH ANSON — Bruce Wayne Frederic, 55, of Farmington, died unexpectedly Saturday Oct. 18, 2008, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born May 21, 1953, in Farmington, the son of Burton and Joan (Paquette) Frederic. He was a graduate of Madison High School and attended the University of Maine, Farmington.

      PORTLAND -- Kathleen Whitzell, 64, of Gardiner passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen was raised in Sutton, Mass. and graduated from Saint Vincent Hospital of Nursing and Saint Joseph's College in Maine.

He was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Chesterville, the son of James and Lila (Flagg) Williamson. He received his education in Chesterville elementary schools and was a graduate of Monmouth Academy.
