SALEM -- The number one boys' team and the number one girls' undefeated soccer team have home field advantage throughout their playoff runs.

The girls' team took on a tough game against St. Dom's yesterday Tuesday, Oct. 29. The Irregular went to press before the results of that game were available.

The Mt. Abram boys' squad will host eighth seed Traip (6-8-0) who defeated NYA (4-8-2) to advance in the preliminary round. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

Although Traip does not have a winning record, they should be a challenge due to the fact that they play more than three-quarters of the regular season against Class B schools in Southern Maine. Traip did have a winning record (3-1) against other Class C schools in their conference defeating teams such as Sacopee Valley, NYA and Waynflete.

Should the MTA boys advance, they'll take on the winners of #4 Livermore Falls (9-4-1) or #5 Georges Valley (8-4-2) on Saturday, Nov. 1. The boys defeated Georges Valley in their regular season 3-0, but the Andies gave MTA (11-2-1) their only two losses.

In other Class C quarter-final boys' action, #3 Telstar is hosting #11 Waynflete and #2 St. Dom's is taking on #11 Sacopee.

If the girls succeeded in their game against St. Dom's, they'll take on the winners of #4 Winthrop (9-4-1) vs. NYA (8-6-0) also on Saturday. The Lady Roadrunners have already beat Winthrop 3-1 in regular season action and have never seen NYA.

In other girls' Class C quarter final action, #3 Waynflete is hosting #6 Sacopee Valley and #7 Hall-Dale is visiting #2 Georges Valley.

The Western Class C regional finals are scheduled for Nov. 5.

In Class D quarter-final action, the #6 Rangeley boys' squad will be traveling to #3 Greater Portland on Wednesday, Oct 29. The #3 Rangeley girls got a bye to the Semi's and will travel to #2 Buckfield on Nov. 5.
