      Semi-finals: Mt. Abram, 1 Georges Valley, 0 SALEM - - In a well-played MVC match-up between two evenly matched squads last Saturday, a scoreless fist half mostly controlled by Mt. Abram proved to be anyone's contest. The stakes were high for both teams as the winners would advance to the Western C finals to host the 11th ranked Waynflete team today, Nov. 5.

      BUCKFIELD - - With a bye in the first round, the third-ranked Rangeley Lady Lakers advanced to the Western D finals with a dramatic overtime win over Buckfield last Saturday, Nov. 1. With that game, the Lakers (10-3-2) will be traveling to take on top seeded Greenville (7-1-4) today, Wednesday, Nov. 5.

      Quarterfinal: Mt. Abram, 4 - Traip, 1 SALEM - Senior exchange student Mita Popovic delivered a hat trick and classmate Alex Crossman iced it in a 4-1 rout of Traip Academy in quarterfinal action last Wednesday. Mid-fielder Ian Daly, who stepped up in a big way was credited with two assists on the day.

Boys of fall baseball
     The boys of fall baseball finished their season earlier this month in tournament play with some great baseball games against Skowhegan and Messalonskee. The NFC team advanced in the first round by knocking out the Skowhegan Black team by the score of 11-1. Their next match- up was against a very good Messalonskee team where NFC narrowly lost by the score of 3-2 finishing their season in third place.
