FARMINGTON — Heirlooms of Tomorrow recently announced that Farmington resident and UpCountry Artist Lucia Swallow will be Artist of the Month for November at its SugarWood Gallery location at 248 Broadway.

An Open House Reception is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited.

Color, design and creation have been common threads through Lucia Swallow's life as a painter, gardener and mother. Her passion for art is inspired by painting on location and becoming intimate with the natural beauty around her. Swallow has studied art for some 20-plus years and attempts to spend time each day painting, discovering and learning. She enjoys capturing the beauty and magic of flowers, sunsets and seasons in her paintings of landscapes and charming rural settings. Her works often include elements of light, shadows and reflections. She works in oils, pastels, watercolor and pencil.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
