AS THE LEAVES TURN

2008-11-05 / Irregular Regulars

'Tis the season for craft fairs! There are lots... so check out our list on Page 24 of this issue.

It's also hunting season, and the Phillips eighth graders are preparing a Hunters' Breakfast this Saturday, from 4:30 to 9 a.m. at the elementary school. Proceeds will benefit the class trip. Questions? Call 639-2909, extension 290.

Phillips is also hosting a Three Pasta Supper Saturday. This North Franklin Snowmobile Club fundraiser will be held at the Community House beginning at 4 p.m. More info about this event can be had by calling 639-5151 or 639-4674.

If baked beans (and various casseroles) are more your thing, go to Stratton instead for a Public Supper at the Stratton-Eustis Community Building. Hosted by the Wayfarers, the Narrow Gauge String Band will be playing their imitable brand of music for your entertainment. This is also a benefit.

Looking for something to keep you busy this winter? The Maine Mountain Children's House, which meets at the Kingfield Methodist Church at 51 High Street, is hosting a Worm Composting talk next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. This free talk will be presented by Mark Follansbee, who will answer all the questions about composting with worms you ever had, and some no doubt you haven't thought of yet. For additional info, call 491-2596.

If you read this column, maybe you have something to add. News about friends, relatives, special people or events are all game for As the Leaves Turn. Call 265- 2773 or e-mail us at theirregular@tds.net by Friday and get your two cents into the Irregular!
