STRATTON — About 50 friends and relatives gathered on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Stratton-Eustis Community Building for a baby shower for Sarah Farnsworth Sillanpaa.

There was great buffet which included a decorated cake made by Gail Gatchell Stewart.

Jennifer Mitchell kept everyone on their toes having them fill out a long questionnaire that asked 20 questions about Robert and Sarah's life —from what color their eyes were to what their favorite television program is.

Among the many gifts was a beautiful handcrafted cradle, three feet by two feet, for the new baby. Cheryl Sillanpaa said that she had made all her sons cradles for their babies as they were born.

"The first three, for Niilo, Jesse and Alex, I made, but the one for Robert and Sarah and their soon to be new baby, was made by Robert's step-dad, Andy Phillips," said Cheryl. The grandchildren, soon to be six, call Phillips "Panda" said Cheryl.

Cheryl said that it took about a week to make the cradle.
