Hay, fuel, town logo meeting topics
KINGFIELD - - The Kingfield Selectmen met on Monday, Nov. 3 and announced that there will be a Special Town meeting on Monday, Nov. 17 for the purpose of refinancing the town's fire station. That meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
Members went on to appoint Leanna Targett as the town's motor vehicle agent.
After review of a draft, members approved the language in an agreement to continue to allow Casey Bowden to hay the town-acquired land formally known as the Gilmore and Newell properties.
Administrative Assistant Greg Davis said that the town has entered into a purchase agreement with ET Cash Fuel for heating fuel.
The board then authorized legal review of a proposed new zoning ordinance that will be considered at a future town meeting. After an executive session, the board agreed on the salary rate of $14.50 an hour for the town road commissioner. Davis also announced that they hired Bryan Fitch as the road commissioner's assistant.
Davis reported that they received a town logo design from Mt. Abram student Lizzy Chenard. Members discussed the possibility of further developing one of the designs.
The next regularly scheduled selectmen's meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
