AS THE LEAVES TURN

2008-11-19 / Irregular Regulars

We talked with Megan Roberts, the Director of the Ski Museum of Maine in Farmington, last week. She is looking for "Jet Sticks" for the museum. Remember those plastic things that you'd slide in the back of your ski boot that would allow you to "sit back" on your skis? Then you'd fly over those bumps "wahoooo!" Anyway, give Megan a call if you have a pair that you're willing to part with, 491-5481, or e-mail: mroberts@skimuseumofmaine. org. Better yet, stop by the museum and check it out. It's located on 109 Church Street in Farmington.

The Irregular's own, Tracy Bessey finally took a Hunters' Safety course. With all the hunters in her family and in fact, her father-in-law a retired Game Warden, it's about time. There was a bit more pressure on her than just that however; as her sister-in-law, Karen Pease, took the course earlier and earned a 100 percent on the exam. Not to be out done, Tracy did get a perfect score, as did Paul Coburn —the only two in a class of 30! Go ahead, ask her to name the parts of a rifle!

The infamous and entertaining Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers, an improv comedy troupe, will be offering their newest show Thursday and Friday, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mt. Blue High School. Each can of food brought along will earn a discount and be donated to a food closet. Have a hearty laugh and make a donation. For more info, call 778-3561 or email dryder@msad9.org.

It's hard to believe, but in about a week, it will be Thanksgiving! Weren't we waiting for summer to start just a little while ago?
