Sugarloaf Outdoor Center has some of the best cross-country skiing according to book's author

BOULDER, Colo. - - Author Jonathan Wiesel knows that some of the best winter fun can be found in Maine. And now, through his new book, he's spreading the word.

"Maine has some of the best cross-country skiing in New England," Wiesel says. "You'll find everything from full-service centers where you can also go alpine skiing, to inns and resorts where you can enjoy not just great Nordic skiing but also fine dining and accommodations."

Maine ski areas and ski resorts included in Cross- Country Ski Getaways are Sugarloaf Outdoor Center and The Bethel Inn Resort.

Wiesel - -who has been involved in the cross-country ski world for years-- has visited more than 300 crosscountry ski areas, resorts and groomed trail systems. His new book, Cross-Country Ski Getaways, gives detailed information about nearly 100 of his favorite cross-country ski destinations in the U.S. and Canada.

The destinations in Wiesel's 102-page e-book run the gamut: from budget to luxury… places that work well for families, singles and honeymooners… trails that are great for those who've never skied to those who've been skiing all their lives. Also included is information on other winter activities available at or near the ski areas, including snowshoeing, sledding, sleigh rides and alpine skiing.

Cross-Country Ski Getaways is available online at www.crosscountryskifun.com; the e-book - -which readers can print or read online-- is $9.95 (U.S.).
