1918-2008 — Her greatest passion in life was her home in West Freeman

FARMINGTON — Laurie E. Libby Newall Lambert, age 90, died on Nov. 9, 2008, at Pinewood Terrace in Farmington.

She was born in New Vineyard, June 15, 1918 to Roxie (Stewart) and Ralph Bernard Libby.

Her greatest passion in life was her home in West Freeman, mowing the lawns in the summer and plowing her yard in the winter. She loved chocolate, donuts, cakes and cookies. Also lunch at Adams Rib in Strong. Several of us "small" cousins always loved to go to Auntie's house. We were always welcome and really good times were had there. Her home there in West Freeman is always a destination for the family to come to while visiting in Maine.

She leaves behind two brothers, Harvey Libby and wife, Mabelle, of Zellwood, Fla. and Norman Libby and wife, Celena, of Strong and Melbourne Fla.; nephews and nieces, George Libby and wife, Marian, Frank Libby, Helen Rambush and Loren, and sons, Lance and Eric, Richard Libby and wife, Regina, Sandra Libby and

John Rendon, Shirley Libby and Billy Sherrill, Terry Libby and Sue Libby, Anne Richard-Schattschneider and Don.

Also her special friends and extended family at Pinewood Terrace. She may have been difficult at times, but she loved you all and really loved living there. It was her home. Special thoughts to her roommate Mary and to Anne Marie who prayed for Laurie's special angel everyday. Also her special friends, Nan and Delbert Reed, her neighbors for many years.

She was pre-deceased by her parents; and stepfather, Roy Wiggin; her sister, Barbara Stoddard; and husbands Robert Newall and James Lambert.

There was a graveside service Thursday, Nov.

13, 2008, at the West Freeman Cemetery in West

Freeman, the Rev. John Tolman officiating.

Please make any donations in her honor to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, Farmington, Maine 04938.
