MTA well represented on All-Star teams

(David Hart photo) SALEM - - Mt Abram fall sports teams were honored at the annual awards night last week. Athletic Director Jeff Pillsbury was pleased to announce that the boys' soccer coach, Darren Allen, had been named the MVC Coach of the Year.
He also noted the girls' coach, Marc Keller, would have additionally been honored if his own vote among coaches was cast for himself.
Pillsbury noted the soccer success of this year including an undefeated girls' regular season program, an accomplishment that has not occurred since 1982.
It was also a first when the both MTA teams qualified to participate in the MVC championships.
The audience heard a list of athletes from the soccer teams who not only had a fantastic season, but academically are earning grade point averages of 90 or better. This group includes Emma James, Rachel Fullerton, Rebecca London, Alex Tuttle, Rebecca Fullerton, Greg Dexter, Maria Parrett, Elysha Dyer, Tabatha Seavey, Noelle Lake, Alex Crossman, Ben Dunham, Kenni Norton, Ethan Eisenhaur, Noah Tranten and Sam Simpson.

(David Hart photo) "There are 13 players on the MVC All-Star First All Conference team including a goalie," Coach Keller said. "Of those 13 we had six First Team All-Stars from Mt. Abram."
Emma James, Rebecca Fullerton, Maria Parrett, Rebecca London, Rachel Fullerton and Kylie Rolbiecki were named. Katie Bushman and Kenni Norton were additionally named with honorable mention.
From the boys' side First Team All-stars included Dimitri Popovic, Alex Crossman and Mike Bonney. Phalen Barry was named to the Second Team All- Conference All-Stars with Ethan Eisenhaur and Greg Dexter receiving honorable mention.
This year the Art Potter Award, honoring an individual who exemplifies sportsmanship and dedication to the game, went to senior Alex Crossman.
Of similar prestige, the Bruce Howard Award went out to senior Ethan Eisenhaur. Named to the All-Regional Team and a chance to play in an East/West match up in Division C, Emma James, Kylie Rolbiecki, Rebecca London, Rachel Fullerton and Rebecca Fullerton were all selected.
On the boys' end, Dimitri Popovic, Alex Crossman and Mike Bonney were selected to the West team.
That evening led to teams breaking into individual groups to discuss their highly successful seasons and hand out internal player awards.
