The Blessing of the Skis and Boards is Sunday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m.
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry started a new Sugarloaf tradition last year and is inviting all Sugarloafers to be a part of the second annual event.

The Blessing of the Skis and Boards will be on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Jean Luce Timing Building at the base of Comp Hill.

Reverends Pam and Earle Morse will lead the ceremony as they seek a blessing for the gear, mountain and safety on the mountain and for everyone who skis and rides here. It will also be a time to express thanks to the Sugarloaf Ski Patrol.

A panel of "elite" judges will be presenting awards for the following: oldest pair of skis, oldest skier or rider, youngest skier or rider, largest family group, most decked out snowboard and ugliest skis or board.

For more information, call the Morses, 237-2304.
