CVOA plans holiday hike, get-together
      CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association is planning an afternoon hike, cookout and cookie swap Dec. 6. The hike will take about two hours along the AT into Jones Pond. Hot beverages, grilled chicken, burgers and holiday cookies will be served indoors after the hike.

Strong leads way to perfect season

      Strong, 51 - Rangeley, 34 STRONG -- Quite possibly the toughest game of the season for the Strong Indians, but they were able to defeat the Rangeley Lakers 51-34 on Nov. 14 to conclude their perfect undefeated junior varsity basketball season. Strong's fifth and sixth graders earned themselves a 4-0 record.
