FARMINGTON — On Dec. 5 and 6, audiences are invited to the inaugural performance of western Maine's new comedy troupe, Teachers Lounge Mafia, in Stale Milk & Sour Cookies: An Evening of Irreverent Holiday Comedy, at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Theater on the University of Farmington campus.

The performance features a collection of all-original sketch and improv comedy designed to make Aunt Edna's fruitcake edible and Uncle Bunny's singing bearable. All proceeds will go toward Sandy River Players and improving the theater group's playhouse.

Stale Milk & Sour Cookies takes a comic look at the annual struggles we face this time of year: embarrassing relatives, obnoxious guests, awful presents, corny TV specials and the host of those ShamWow ads. Skits written by the troupe will be combined with classic improv games given a seasonal bent. The humor will be plentiful but audiences should be aware that it is not for all-ages. Audience discretion is advised.

Teachers Lounge Mafia consists of area comic actors, Emily Pottle, Alex Kreitzman, Jeff Bailey, Kyla Wheeler, Natalie Bean, and Dan Ryder.

Stale Milk & Sour Cookies runs for one weekend only, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Theater on the UMF campus. A suggested donation of $5 will be collected at the door and benefit Sandy River Players.

Tickets are available at the door or may be reserved by calling the SRP Box Office phone at 779-7084.
