UMF Community Chorus to perform
FARMINGTON -— University of Maine at Farmington Community Chorus will present two performances of its Winter Program at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13; and at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Old South Church in Farmington.
Celebrating its 26th year, the UMF Community Chorus brings UMF students, faculty and staff together with community members from throughout Western Maine to present two programs every year.
Directed by Bruce McInnes, this year's December program includes two works: Vivaldi's "Gloria" and Marc Antoine Charpentier's "Messe de Minuit pour Noël." Vocal soloists in the Vivaldi work include: Lisl Fuson, Laura Grams, Sarah Sloane, Elaine Eadler and Jane Parker with organ accompaniment by Patricia Hayden. In the Charpentier, the soloists are: Lisl Fuson, Sarah Sloane, Mardie Porter, Dan Woodward, Jeff Fuson, Dan Woodward and Paul Stancioff. Instrumental accompaniment is provided by John Sytsma on recorders, Kathryn Sytsma on viola da gamba and Patricia Hayden on organ solos and interludes.
Both concerts are open to the public and are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for UMF students with I.D. Tickets will be available at Mickey's Hallmark in Farmington and at the door at both performances.
