Donna Chase recognizes the Iris Network
KINGFIELD -- Donna Chase, a senior teller with Camden National Bank's branch in Kingfield, has chosen to recognize the Iris Network with a donation made in her name from Camden National Corporation in recognition of her remarkable service efforts in the greater Kingfield market.
Chase chose the Iris Network as the recipient of this Camden National Corporation donation because she wants to help those who are visually impaired or blind. "My amazing 4-year old grandson was born with septo optic dysplasia in both eyes and we have been working to find ways to find support him," said Chase. "Hopefully, this donation will enable The Iris Network to continue their many services to enhance the lives of the legally blind and visually impaired like my grandson."
Founded in 1905 as the Maine Institution for the Blind by William J. Ryan, a visually-impaired traveling almanac salesman, the Iris Network today is a nonprofit statewide resource and catalyst for people who are visually impaired or blind. The Iris Network strives to eliminate barriers related to vision loss and foster independence and integration in the community. The Iris Network provides low vision and rehabilitation services from locations in Bangor, Brewer, Ellsworth, Houlton, Lewiston, Saco and Portland. The organization also participates in Maine Airs, which broadcasts news information that is not regularly available in audio form. For more information or to learn how to support the Iris Network, go to www.theiris.org.
At Camden National Corporation, Donna Chase was selected in November 2008 from a monthly pool of nominations submitted by her peers to be recognized for her special service to her colleagues during an especially busy time in the Kingfield branch.
Each month, Camden National Corporation will continue to recognize two employees nominated by their peers to encourage service excellence in the delivery of The Camden National Experience and fulfill the Company's Core Purpose to enrich the lives of people, help businesses succeed and vitalize communities through each and every interaction.
