Chiropractor Dr. Thomas J. Augat has opened an office in Kingfield next to the Carrabassett Coffee Company. (Laura Dunham photo) KINGFIELD — Although at the present time Dr. Thomas Augat, chiropractor, is only in his office in Kingfield Saturday and Monday afternoons for appointments, the Carrabassett Valley homeowner says that may change in the future.
Dr. Augat has had a flourishing business in a multiple-doctor clinic in Brunswick for the past 20 years. He said that he and his wife, Jackie, just love all outside sports from kayaking to golfing to skiing and spend as much time as possible at their home in Redington.
Dr. Augat is a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, is a member of the Acupuncture Society of America, Past President of the Maine Chiropractic Association, past president of the Northeast Chiropractic Council, Northeast representative on National Practice Guidelines Council and a member of the Society for Care of Elite and Professional Athletes. Dr. Augat accepts all insurances including Medicare.
Dr. Augat offers laser treatments, ultrasound, distraction-traction and electrical stem treatments. "We have everything right here that you would need." He said that he can help children, the elderly or anyone else "just get on with their life."
Dr. Augat will soon go to Las Vegas where he will treat athletes and horses (yes, he works on horses too) at the Pro Rodeo finals.
The chiropractor found that local people had to travel all the way to Farmington to get chiropractic help, so he decided to open his new facility. "Maybe one day my wife and I will retire here and I can offer more hours," Augat added.
Right now, if you suffer with back or neck pain, joint injuries, hip, knee and ankle pain, you can reach Dr. Augat at 265-8008.
He also offers help with muscle injuries, nerve conditions, exercise and nutrition care.
