CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Sugarloaf Opener was held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7 at Sugarloaf Mountain.

Saturday, slaloms were held on Narrow Gauge with 40 gates and 39 direction changes in the first run and 46 and 44 in the second. The weather was partly cloudy and the conditions packed powder. The temperatures ranged from -13 Celsius at the start to -11 at the finish.
