As the Ski Turns
Today begins Kingfield's Webster Free Library's free computer class for seniors. There will be six consecutive classes. The class, taught by Brian Twitchell, is aimed at those with little or no computer experience. There is a 10-person class limit and it starts a week from today —call, the class is probably not filled. But who knows, even if it is and there's enough interest, maybe there will be another one. The laptops were obtained through a grant the library received from the King Foundation. And beginning Jan. 14, they will be available to the public at the library. To register or for more information, call the library Wednesdays at 265-2052 or Joan Meldrum at 265-4161.
It would be a worn out cliché if it weren't so true... wait a minute and the weather in New England will change and change drastically. From negative singledigits to 50-plus-degrees with three feet of snow to boot and now we're looking at temps back down in the single digits as we go to press! Hard to dress for this.
Another year has come and gone and a new year is upon us! Due to the holiday, deadlines for us to receive letters, press releases, obituaries, etc., to be published in the first issue of the new year (Jan. 7) is today, Wednesday, Dec. 31 at noon. Classified ads should be here before 3 p.m.
The Irregular will be closed New Year's Day, Thursday, Jan. 1 and Friday, Jan. 2. We will reopen at our regular hours Monday, Jan. 4. Happy New Year! Have a great time, but be safe.
