Charity auction slated FARMINGTON -- In time for early Christmas shopping, the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is holding its Annual Charity Auction on Saturday, Nov. 15 in the Ben Franklin Center's Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Auction preview begins at 5 p.m., with bidding on live and silent auction items starting at 6 p.m. According to organizers, auction items include, but are not limited to: hand-made furniture, a kayak package, a whitewater rafting trip, restaurant gift certificates, antique hooked rug, vacation packages, fitness center memberships, massages, granite bench and rustic bentwood garden trellis, antique steamer trunk, $500 Savings Bond, high end color printer, handmade quilts, Vera Bradley bags and much, much more. Money raised at the Annual Charity Auction helps the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area reach its campaign goal of raising $395,000 this year to support initiatives that impact the community.
