DAR chapter celebrates 100th year

(Submitted photo) FARMINGTON — The Colonial Daughters Chapter, DAR met recently at Two Oaks in Farmington for its annual Christmas Party and to bring to an end the yearlong 100th birthday celebration. The Chapter was formed in June 1908.
After an abbreviated business meeting, Regent Theo Ross conducted the installation of her granddaughter, Abby Walker to the office of Chapter Historian.
An exchange of Christmas gifts in the form of a Yankee Swap was held. The Pelletier Family, consisting of Rebecca, a chapter member, her husband Richard, and daughter from Fayette provided a musical program of Country and Gospel music. A buffet of Christmas desserts was enjoyed. Hostesses were Elaine Wells, Clarice Sturtevant, Rebecca Pelletier and Ruth Watson.
The next meeting will be held Jan. 27, at The Pierce House, 204 Main Street in Farmington at 1 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend all meetings.
