Porter House employee fundraiser planned
CARRABASSETT VALLEY -- A benefit fundraiser for the employees of the Porter House Restaurant in Eustis is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 14, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Rack on the Access Road on Sugarloaf.
The Porterhouse burned early Christmas week and suffered extensive damage. The restaurant has been forced to close and the staff is out of work during a trying economic time when holiday and heating bills loom.
The community has pulled together and put together a fundraiser to help support all of the Porterhouse employees. The event will include live entertainment provided by The Steve's and Company (organizers say to expect some surprise guests).
There will be two raffles as well as a live auction, with over 60 prizes. The live auction will feature some big ticket items including a stay at a camp on Rangeley Lake. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Porterhouse employees.
For those who can't make event but would still like to help, donations in any amount are appreciated and can be sent to: Employees of the Porterhouse, c/o The Rack, Attn: Glenda, 5016 Access Road, Carrabassett Valley, Maine 04947.
