(Laura Dunham photo) COPLIN PLANTATION — Two business women decided to join forces and recently opened the new Coplin Co-Op gift shop on Route 16 just outside of Stratton at the Maine Roadhouse barn.

Summer Schanz, owner of Moth Moon Gardens of Eustis, and Kristen Berry, owner of the Copper Cauldron gift shop in Eustis, decided they would close their separate businesses for the winter and combine shops under one roof at the Roadhouse barn.

What a beautiful shop all under one roof with its wood fire welcoming you into its warm and unique atmosphere. There is local art, furniture, outdoor items, handcrafted items, jewelry, free gift bagging and music to entertain you.

Schanz and Berry held a Women's Night recently giving local women a "reason to dress up" and come to the shop to pick out their favorite holiday gifts. There was free music, wine and cheesecake.

Shortly afterwards, the entrepreneurs held a Men's Night where local resident men could pick out "just the right gift for their ladies" and enjoy beans and dogs.

The owners of the Coplin Co-Op are also holding a fundraising raffle for Casting for Recovery a program being conducted by Bonnie Holding for breast cancer survivors in the near future.

The Coplin Co-Op gift shop will be open this winter from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.

Schanz and Berry plan to host many additional upcoming events.
