Anita Flint Caler
FARMINGTON — Anita Flint Caler, 91, a resident of the Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, formerly of Kingfield, died Saturday evening, Dec. 20, 2008, where she had been living for nearly four years.
She was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Whitefield, N.H., a daughter of Asa and Nina (Stillings) Flint. She was a graduate of Westbrook High School and on June 16, 1940, married Horace Caler in Westbrook. While living in New York, she was employed at a dental office in Flushing, and helped the dentist invent the well-known mouthwash, Chloraseptic.
She was a member of the Kingfield United Methodist Church. Anita was a devoted homemaker who loved to cook, knit and sew. She and her husband of over 50 years enjoyed spending several winters in Melborne, Fla. and traveling throughout the United States. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and was very interested in current events, particularly in politics.
She is survived by her niece, Anita Waterhouse and her husband, Donald, of New Sharon.
She was predeceased by her husband, Horace; and sister, Elaine Lovely.
Winter entombment will be at the funeral home. Spring graveside services will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Kingfield, with Rev. Clifford Olson officiating.
