(Laura Dunham photo) KINGFIELD — Nine members of the Red Hat Society met on Tuesday evening, Jan. 20, at Longfellow's Restaurant for their monthly meeting and social evening, hosted by Thelma Cyr and Jane Deely.

The tables in the room overlooking the river were all together so it made for a good evening of visiting with each other. Marcie Herrick, Queen Mother, said that the Red Snappers will now officially be called the Maine Red Snappers.

Laura Dunham, "the card lady," said that she had taken a bouquet of flowers to member Ruth White who is recuperating from a case of "the dreaded shingles." Cards were also sent to Cis Stanley, Mimi Dyer and Jean Northrup who were unable to attend.

The Queen Mum said she will compile a list of the some twenty-three members with their correct addresses and telephone numbers which will be passed out at the February outing.

Herrick noted that anyone who would like to join in on a card game at the Herbert Grand Hotel on every Tuesday at 1 p.m. is welcomed. "We had a great time this past week," said Herrick, "with Mauno Kankainen and Charlie Brown offering to bring refreshments next week."

Serving on the arrangements for the February Red Hat outing will be Ruth White and Lorraine Savage.
