Schrader tops all-time steal list

CLINTON, N.Y. — Hamilton College women's basketball team, the Continentals, posted a 1-1 week at home in Liberty League action. The Continentals secured a 67-49 win over Clarkson on Feb. 13, but dropped a crucial match-up to St. Lawrence, 63-56 on Feb. 14. The loss drops Hamilton to fifth place in Liberty League standings and sets up a showdown against fourth-place William Smith College (13-9 overall, 7-4 Liberty) on Feb. 17 in Clinton, N.Y. The top four teams make the Liberty League Championship Tournament.

Sarah Schrader (class of 2009), a Rangeley Lakes Regional High School graduate, contributed 12 points (5-for-7), four assists and two steals in the Clarkson win.

Against St. Lawrence, she added nine points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Schrader moved into fifth place on Hamilton's all-time steals list with 177.

The previous week, the Continentals posted a 2-0 week on the road in Liberty League play. Hamilton picked up a 54-50 win at Rennselaer on Feb. 6 and went on to a 54-40 win at Vassar on Feb. 7.

Schrader chipped in 10 points and three steals during the Rennselaer game. At Vassar, she grabbed eight rebounds and handed out four assists.
