David Allen Skillings

David enjoyed music, holidays, family gatherings and cats

NEW VINEYARD — David Allen Skillings, 71, passed away at his home in New Vineyard where he has been welcomed as a part of Steve and Lorraine Heath's family for the past five and a half years.

He was born in Scarborough and then lived in many places including Kingfield, Temple and then New Vineyard. David was fortunate to be part of the L.E.A.P. organization, which connected him with his loving family. He worked for Work First until retiring in September 2008. David enjoyed music, holidays, family gatherings, cats, going to camp, Steve's skidder and golf cart and looking at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

In addition to Steve and Lorraine, David is survived by his guardian, Laura Osgood of West Farmington; special friends Diane Thompson of Farmington, Linda LaRue- Kenniston of Readfield, Sue McDonald of New Vineyard; and many other close friends and family members including new friends from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. at Adams~McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Gary Bestwick officiating.
