Wilma E. Towle
WILTON — Wilma E. Towle, 94, of Wilton, died Friday, Feb. 20, at her home of natural causes.
She was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Rangeley, the daughter of Ernest and Lila (Hoar) Robbins. She was a graduate of Rangeley High School. In 1933, she married Thomas J. Cummings Sr. of Cranston, R.I. In 1967, she married Wilfred R. Towle. For many years, she was employed at G.H. Bass Shoe Co., in Wilton.
She lived in Rangeley, Phillips, Livermore Falls and Wilton and had been a member of the Livermore Falls Garden Club, the Rebekahs and the Franklin Grange. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed caring for her garden, canning, sewing and camping at her beloved hometown of Rangeley.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Cummings Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Pittsfield; two daughters, Anita Little of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and Ellen Amrol and her husband, Marcel, of Penacook, N.H., and Barefoot Bay, Fla.; one brother, Olin Robbins and his wife, Harriet, of Texas; and many grand and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands; and two brothers, Durwood and Hollis Robbins.
Memorial graveside services will be held on the Fourth of July weekend at Evergreen Cemetery, Rangeley.
