Have you ever noticed that with the spring thaw dog waste begins to appear and reappear? Does it really multiply?
Picking up after your dog is one of the most important things that you can do as a pet owner. The truth is too many people ignore this basic responsibility.
The Narrow Gauge Pathway is a perfect example of the above. If you are among those who look the other way while your pet is doing his deed, it's time to change your ways.
Here are the top 10 reasons to pick up after your dog. It's the law Its common courtesy Dog waste is unhealthy It pollutes the water Dog waste degrades slowly It's not fertilizer It's unsightly It tops the list of complaints amongst dogs It makes the pet owner look bad Your actions set an example for others
The following tips will improve the quality of recreation and aesthetics along the Campbell Field parking lot and Narrow Gauge Trail. Take a plastic bag with you from home, place it in your pocket and use it. Turn it inside out, pick up the pile of waste from your pet, close the bag, tie it and take it with you. Do this every time you are out. Remember the slogan CARRY IN CARRY OUT.
This spring there will be gardening trowels placed along the Narrow Gauge Pathway trail for your convenience. A stick is also a great tool as well.
So, why bother with all of this? The main reason is that you owe it to your dog, neighbors, yourself and the other bowsers that spend a great deal of time utilizing the pathway and parking area.
