Blood drives slated

FARMINGTON — The American Red Cross is holding blood drives at both the university and the hospital this month.

The University of Maine at Farmington will hold its blood drive, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 15 and 16, from 12 to 5 p.m.

Franklin Memorial Hospital will hold its blood drive, Wednesday, April 22, from 1 to 6 p.m.

For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, call the American Red Cross at 1- 800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543). Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. These blood drives are subject to change without notice, call to confirm site and hours.

If you are 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, have not donated blood within the past 56 days and are feeling well, you may be eligible to donate a precious lifesaving pint of blood. There is no upper age limit and most medications are now acceptable.
