KES to host fundraisers for school library

KINGFIELD — The Kingfield Elementary School is hosting two fundraisers to raise money for the school library's book fund.

The Book Fair will be in the school library Monday, March 30 thru Friday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds to benefit new books for the KES library.

The Math-A-Thon, hosted by the PTA, is currently running and children are busy collecting pledges due by April 10. A portion of the funds raised are also being donated to the book purchase fund.

Due to tough financial times, the funds to purchase new books have diminished. With the current state of the economy, circulation and library use are up considerably. More members of the public are turning to the school library for books to read and the library is unable to keep up with newly released titles. Success in these two fundraisers will hopefully enable the library to purchase a considerable number of new books.

Also, if anyone wishes to donate their returnable bottles and cans to the Kingfield School library, there is an account set up at the Old Mill Redemption Center.
