Wilma J. "Will" Touchette
LEWISTON — Wilma J. "Will" Touchette, 65, of New Vineyard, co-owner of Shirt Tales in Wilton, died Friday April 10, 2009 at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
She was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Holyoke, Mass., the daughter of Stuart and Rose (Martin) Randall. In 1961 she married Ronald L. Touchette. They raised their family in Chicopee, Mass. before moving to New Vineyard in 1982 where she enjoyed "living on the mountain."
A nature and animal lover, she enjoyed spending time snowmobiling, camping, and riding her ATV. Her love of the outdoors, and her commitment to community, could be seen through her involvement as a member and secretary of the New Vineyard Trailmasters Club.
Her artistic talent can be seen in her photography, homemade Christmas ornaments and sewing skills. A perfect example of her artistry as a seamstress is found in the wedding gown that she made for her only daughter.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit in helping children in her community with their team jerseys and for the batches of homemade cookies sent to family members in honor of their birthdays.
She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her "paper-boy" and husband of nearly 48 years, Ronald Lucien Touchette of New Vineyard; their daughter, Patricia Gagnon and her husband, Daniel; and their children, Daniel and Kate of Massachusetts and their son, Richard Touchette and his wife, Rhonda, and their children, Ricky and Ross of North Carolina; two sisters, Barbara Betournay and her husband, Henry, of Massachusetts and June Coburn and her husband, Clyde of Texas; many nieces and one nephew.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Wiles Remembrance Center in Wilton.
Those who desire may give gifts in her memory to the Central Maine Medical Center Development Office 300 Main St. Lewiston, Maine 04240 ATT.: Cardiac Care Center.
Condolences may be sent to her family via e-mail to info@wilesrc.com.
