CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Outdoor Association will be sponsoring its annual Spring Fling including a dance, a raffle and one of its famous potluck dinners at the Stratton-Eustis Community Center April 25. Happy hour kicks off at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and desserts.

After dinner, the floor will be cleared for a night of dancing to the Delta Knights, a lively band performing swing, jazz, R&B, classic rock and oldies... everything from the Beer Barrel Polka to Honky Tonk Woman... from Mustang Sally to Pink Cadillac.

"Make sure to keep your schedule open for this one," said Cynthia Pernice, CVOA social secretary.

Another of the evening's highlights will be the annual raffle drawing to benefit the CVOA shooting range.

Prizes this year include a $600 Kona mountain bike, a Thompson Triumph muzzle loader with a retail value of $519, two LL Bean Katahdin sleeping bags valued at $238 and an LL Bean ultra dome tent which retails for $179.

If you haven't already purchased your raffle tickets, you can buy them at the door or by contacting John McCatherin (johnmccatherin@tds.net or 235-2121) or Sherie Packard (theridge@directv.net or 246-2339).

Pernice will be organizing the potluck and the dance. If you plan to attend, RSVP her at cpernice@maine.rr.com or 650-1421 and let her know how many are coming and what you plan to bring for the potluck… an appetizer, an entrée, a salad or side dish or a dessert.

Price for the evening is just $15.

Pernice is also putting together a play list for the band. So check out the repertoire for the Delta Knights at (www.deltaknights.com) and email her some tunes you'd like the band to play.
