Club invites public to join
STRATTON-EUSTIS — The Flagstaff Area ATV Club is inviting all interested parties to its second meeting of the 2009 season.
The meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month with two exceptions this year: Easter and Mothers Day. These meeting dates will be one week later than usual: April 19 and May 17, respectively. June thru October will be as always the second Sunday at the Stratton-Eustis Community Center on Main Street in Stratton at 10 a.m.
"It's been a long winter and we're all anxious to get out there and get to work preparing the trails for so many that love the sport of ATVing," Ruthanne Smith, an FAATV member, said.
At this time the club hopes to open the trails on May 22, as long as the soil continues to dry at a good rate.
Smith noted that the club is encouraged this year by so many members that have already re-joined, and thanked all who did.
"Our meetings are well attended and always interesting, come along and join us and share a great cup of coffee with a side of delicious cake (thank you Sandi!)," Smith said.
"As a club we are proud of our efforts to offer opportunities for those that love the sport and to explore the Stratton/Eustis area of Maine," Smith concluded.
The club encourages safe and responsible riding on approved trails.
