UMF seniors' art exhibited through May 16
FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington seniors will exhibit their art work at the UMF Art Galley, from April 16 to May 16.
An opening reception for the artists will be held Thursday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery.
Seniors included in the exhibit are Tim Berry, Autumn Doiron, Meagaan Irish, Sarah J. Levensalor, Stephanie Small and Matt St. John.
This dynamic body of work with significant cultural relevance, reflects an eclectic and dynamic display of student research. Subject matter includes social interaction and activism, feminism and the female form, iconography of consumerism, fully saturated investigations of beauty and the sublime and the interplay between cultural illusions and social myths.
The exhibition showcases a variety of works from video installations to optical illusions and sculpture.
The UMF Art Gallery is located at 246 Main Street (immediately behind the Admissions Office). It is open Tuesday through Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. and by appointment.
