Teacher/School Staff Appreciation Week is May 4 to 8

 

To the editor:

 

It’s that time of year again to officially acknowledge all the important folks who contribute to the education of our children. Please take the time to show your appreciation by letting those people know how much they mean to you.

 

While gifts and treats are always appreciated, don’t underestimate the thoughtfulness of a handwritten note of thanks. Get your pen and paper out and send notes to the office staff, teachers, bus drivers, specialists, kitchen staff, custodians, coaches, etc. Share your thoughts with your kids, and encourage them to write notes as well!

 

Check with your school’s volunteer coordinator or its Parent/Teacher Group to see if there are organized events that you can assist with at your school.

 

Specific to Stratton: Millie Howard, our volunteer coordinator, is organizing special breakfasts each day and a luncheon. If you can prepare or purchase something to contribute, please contact her at 246-2304.

 

Also, back by popular demand, we will offer a car wash for teachers and staff members on the morning of Tuesday the 5th. If you are available to volunteer, please contact Sally Zagnoli at 237-2970 for more details.
