Windmills are a community-wide issue

By Charles Brown

In my opinion, Lloyd Cuttler needs to get his head "out of the sand."

Annexing land may be a local issue, but the result of such when the primary reason is to allow windmills is a community-wide issue, not to be decided by Carrabassett Valley residents alone. The impact of windmills falls on all of us in the area. Moreover, his talk of recreational and economic opportunities serves only to gloss over the windmills.

To me, the true issue is not "Green Energy" but "Green Dollars"; and who is pushing hardest for the latter? Think.

"Green Energy," yes; but in appropriate locations. "Big Bucks" should not be the controlling factor. The Rev. Charles Brown is a resident of Kingfield.
