Julia Thompson Green

She enjoyed skiing at Sugarloaf

KENNEBUNK — Julia Thompson Green, 73, of Kennebunk died Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford.

She was born in West Hartford, Conn., the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Natalie R. Green. She attended local schools, graduating from Oxford School in 1954. She graduated from Sweet Briar College, Va. in 1958.

Julia lived in Brookline, Mass. for many years, and had a career first working in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, then in the Boston Museum of Transportation. Later in life she moved to Kennebunk where family members and friends reside.

Earlier she enjoyed skiing, particularly at Sugarloaf Mountain. Over many years, during summers, she enjoyed visiting family and friends in Kennebunk. Also, she took pleasure in flower gardening.

Julia is survived by her brothers, Elliot Green and his wife, Elizabeth, of Kennebunk, and Thomas D. Green of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two nephews, Douglas Green of Belhaven, N.C., John D. Green and his wife, Susan, of Lyman, Maine; a niece, Lisa Buchanan of Denver, Col.; two great nieces, Kori Green of Chicago, Ill., and Jessica Green of Rockport, Ind.; and two cousins, Sandra Green of Cambridge, Mass., and Premena of Boulder, Col.

A Graveside Service was held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Churchyard section of Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
