SACO — MBNation (formerly Maine Hoops) recently announced that the 14th annual Fall Basketball League is forming.

Last year, according to a spokesperson for the league, over 70 teams from all over Maine and New Hampshire participated in the competitive divisions and championship format.

The four weeks of regular season play begin the weekend of Oct. 3 and 4. The playoffs will be held on the weekend of Nov. 1. Teams are guaranteed nine games, most of which will be played on Sundays.

There are five divisions: Boys/Girls 7th/8th grade; Boys 9th/10th grade; Boys Varsity; Girls Varsity; and Girls JV.

Season play consists of teams playing two same-day games in the Portland-Saco area.
