Ruby A. Stinchfield

1923-2009 — Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family and friends

AVON — Ruby A. Stinchfield, age 86 died, Aug. 26, 2009 at the Pinewood Terrace in Farmington.

She was born in Belvue, Kansas, Jan. 9, 1923. Her parents were Guy C. Brewer, and Lavinia Brewer; she was one of three siblings. Her early years, she lived in Topeka, Kansas and graduated from Topeka High School in 1940. She met the love of her life during World War II and was married in Topeka, Kansas May 9, 1944 to Milton J. Stinchfield Jr. After the war, the couple resided in Phillips, where they, raised two boys, Milton John Stinchfield III and Robert Guy Stinchfield. She continued to live in Phillips after the death of her beloved husband Jan. 15, 1990.

Her early married life, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing crafts, braiding rugs, knitting and her many antiques. She loved working in her flower garden. Upon the sons graduating from high school, she went to work in the Register of Deeds office in Farmington. She was a deputy Register for eight years and the Register of Deeds until she retired in 1988.

She especially enjoyed watching basket ball games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her sons, wives, and her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and by her friends.

She is survived by two sons, Milton John III and wife, Firle, Robert Guy and Wife, Mary, of Phillips; four grandsons, Milton IV and wife, Kelly, of North Carolina, Michael of New Hampshire, Joshua of Arkansas and Robert Jr. and companion, Rebecca, of Turner; one granddaughter, Emily of Phillips; four great-grandsons, Dylon of Farmington, Alek and Treaton of Arkansas, Jackson of North Carolina; two great-granddaughters, Ashley of North Carolina and Kassie Lynn of Arkansas; a brother, William "Bill" Brewer and wife, Joyce, of Austin, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Richard.

She was predeceased by her husband; a sister Jane; and her parents, Guy and Lavina Brewer.

Funeral service will be held, Thursday Sept. 3, 2009, 11 a.m. at the

Phillips Congregational Church, Main Street in Phillips with the Pastor Sue Kaplan Burgess officiating.

At the family's request there will be no visitation hours. Interment will be in the Mile Square Cemetery, Phillips.
