Make a Splash returns to MSAD #58
KINGFIELD -- For the third year, Poland Spring / Nestlé Waters sponsored the Make a Splash / Project WET festival for MSAD #58 third and fourth graders. Last Friday, Sept. 11, the students came from across the four elementary schools to learn about water and the environment at a fun, interactive water festival at the Kingfield Elementary School.
Students were engaged in exciting hands-on activities and investigations about water quality, wetlands, water management and stewardship. Additional activities provided lessons about water conservation, soils, the properties of water and the importance of recycling.
Make a Splash with Project WET is celebrated in 50 states and is the largest nationwide day of water education in the world. Over 135 local students participated in this year's event.
On a gorgeous morning, Poland Spring Natural Resource supervisor Mark LaPlante said the students this year were wonderful. They were fully engaged in the activities and a pleasure to work with.
