The Legislature needs men and women with 'horse sense'

To the editor:

Here we go again; get out your shovels!

Mid-August and they've started the propaganda in full force on the gay question. Thousands and thousands of dollars —for what? To buy advertising to change "marriage" from one man and one woman to any sex unions.

Just think of the hungry people: those who are losing their homes and jobs and need money —need I go on?

Why can't they just leave "marriage" alone, how God and the Bible define marriage?

Sunday, a TV minister was speaking on being committed to God and his precepts. He spoke on how from Day One to the present, that every battle and such in the world all had to do with the war between God and Satan —or the good and the bad— from the Garden of Eden until the present day.

When I said, "What the gays need are civil laws to take care of legal problems in their gay unions —not change the definition of God's marriage rules," a Maine legislator told me, "Well, if you vote it down (same-sex marriage law), then it comes back to the Legislature to fix the rules (civil laws) in legal matters for same-sex unions."

So, why didn't they (the Legislature) do this to start with?

'Guess they need more men and women with "horse sense" down there; people who put the horse before the cart.

Vote for the good and God —vote "Yes," repeal. From now on, vote for people who know God too.

God's will be done, Mrs. Donald Bachelder (Married for 43 years to one man & proud of it.)
