To the editor:

We would truly like to thank the woman who, on her way home from work at midnight, on Saturday, Sept. 19, took the time to stop and ring our doorbell until someone got up, to warn us that a fire had started out by the telephone pole behind our house. We did not get your name but are so thankful to you.

We are also thankful that our son and son-in-law were there to help knock the fire down until the firemen arrived.

Thank you also to Stratton firemen, Scott Spatcher and Guy Woods, who came to make sure things were safe for the night.
